Ballet Review Article

As I mentioned in the June Favorites & Updates Video, there was a very nice article on me and my career in the summer issue of Ballet Review. It was written by a dear friend of mine, Kyra Robinov, and I couldn’t be happier with it. Because there is no link to it online, I thought I would include it here. It explains quite a lot!

Enjoy!

  1. […] Happy July! Today I update you on what’s coming up on this channel as well as tell you about my favorite things from last month. I have some new series in mind that I want to tell you about as well as need your feedback. Then I take you through my favorite beauty/ballet/lifestyle products from June as well as give you some piano updates! I also mention an article I would like all of you to read which I have linked┬áhere. […]

  2. Cool that you were cast so young! Did Sean Lavery teach you the choreography for Juliet himself? I had such a crush on him when I was a teenager…

Anyway, I’m glad you’re better, but sad you’re leaving the area.

  3. Thank you so much for telling your story! I have been wondering if you have Hashimoto’s! We have several board members who also have it. I also have an autoimmune disease, lupus. I’m so happy they’ve been able to find a treatment that works for you and you’re dancing again!

  4. Well that was just wonderful. Kyra is a fantastic writer, her style kept me engaged and emotionally involved.
As for your story, it brings both heartache and joy. Heartache for all that you have gone through, but joy that you continue to fight, continue to smile and find your way to happiness.
I believe that your fans are keeping you alive. Not physically alive, but emotionally alive. I know that I speak for everyone when I say thank you. Your blogs and videos have inspired thousands. I have no doubt that you will change the life of one of those young dancers if you have not already. I hope that we have inspired you.
There will be times when you feel like you have failed; we all do. Life is about getting back up and making the best of it. When you are feeling stressed, just take a deep breath and sit down at that beautiful Baby Grand and play out all your frustration.
Continue to pursue what makes you happy, stay strong when you can, and keep being beautiful.
Thank you Kathryn for being you.

  5. Oh my goodness, it’s just horrible to hear we don’t want you anymore. That’s insane. It’s not like you were just a member of the corps who’s easily replaced. To go from dancing Aurora to nothing seems just plain mean on their part and I’m so sorry for you. I really hope you find your new ballet home and it’s somewhere you can stay for the rest of your career. And I’m really glad you got everything sorted health wise. It has to be terrifying to know your sick and the treatment isn’t working. At least you can focus on getting better now. Good luck!

    • Thank you so much for your comment! Yes- it was rough. I made light of it in the article, but the whole thing was a NIGHTMARE. But I think it’s going to be a good thing. I have the chance to dance other places and I am so excited!
